I need a bit of help, you see I'm making an Utena cosplay from scratch and Im not sure on what to do about the outfit itself. I've never made cosplay so I'm in bit of a bind, what type of materials and fabric did you use for your Juri cosplay?

Are you doing the movie to TV version? Both have fitted jackets, and I would look for jacket pattern that has princess seams to give you the tailored look you are looking for. I would go with either a stretch twill, normal light weight twill or even a really thin denim (I believe that's what mine were made of). The short should be pretty easy to make or find. If you can find a matching color in spandex use that since it will be easier to get the fit right, than if you used same fabric in the jacket.

hope that helps and good luck!

I'm doing the Movie version since I find it more interesting and not as plain as the T.V version. So if I had white spandex could I take black spandex and sew that onto there as well? And also for the jacket, what would you suggest I'd make or use for the epaulets and strings that hang?
It does help a lot since I've never made cosplay in my life. :]
