Hey lovelies!
I've been getting lots in inquires if I'll be at AX this weekend, and sadly no I won't be this year. We've been wanting to attend SDCC for a few years now and this year we we finally committed to doing so. I'm a little bummed that I won't be able to see many of your shinning faces and pretty costumes, but AX has also lost a lot of it's appeal to me. It's quite a bit of money for me to travel, stay, eat and go to the con and I feel the return entertainment value isn't as high as it should be. I feel that 80% of the con I'm looking for someone(s) or trying to get somewhere. Granted the new hotel has made this easier, but really I'm just "Eh..." about AX. And if I didn't live 400 miles away from the location I would imagine i make a bigger effort to go. Chances are that if we really like SDCC (which is more then likely since we are becoming bigger fans of american comics over anime/manga as we get older) we won't go back to AX, unless both of us strike it rich. LOL So that's the deal with AX.
However, Comic con is just on the horizon and I'm working on my costumes for the event. Since this is my first year I'm bringing only three costumes to wear at SDCC (one extra for a shoot off site while I'm there) that can be worn all day if needed. I'm REALLY excited to make/wear all these costumes. One has become a sort of dream costume to do over the last two years so I'm STOKED to finally do it! In the next few weeks I'll be making a costume schedule and list so you guys can try and find me at the event.
Finally, I want to give a big shout out to all those I meet and saw at Kintoki con two weeks ago (my god has it been that long!?) and to Kintoki itself for working so hard on putting together the con.
